About DGHWi

As an independent scientific association, the German Society of Midwifery Science (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hebammenwissenschaft, DGHWi) promotes midwifery research, teaching and practice. Both serve the development of the subject of midwifery at university and evidence-based, efficient, effective care, tailored to the needs of women and their families during the childbearing years. In addition to the scientific discourse, communication with societal and political representatives is important: The results of the DGHWi should serve as a guideline for those responsible for health and family policy as well as various interest groups in these areas.
